Desde la llegada de la música electrónica a escena hubo un permanente debate: ¿ es esto música ? Diversas opiniones sobre la destreza necesaria, el contacto con el instrumento, la existencia de los sonidos fueron centro de largas y variadas discusiones. El ReacTable es más leña, mucha más para alimentar el fuego. Este consta de un revolucionario tablero que por medio de una cámara que analiza la superficie, movimientos, posiciones, orientación y relación entre los objetos modifica la estructura y los parámetros del sintetizador de sonidos. Mediante estos objetos, tangibles, y la mesa redonda, se alienta la participación e interacción del individuo en el proceso de creación.
Llevado a cabo por un equipo de investigadores formado por Sergi Jordà, Marcos Alonso, Günter Geiger y Martin Kaltenbrunner del Grupo de Tecnología Musical de la Universidad Pmpeu Fabra de Barcelona y comercializado por Bjork en su nuevo disco y gira Volta, aquí tienen este monstruo tecnológico fascinante!

The ReacTable is more wood, much more wood to the firewood. A revolutionary table which by means of a camera that analyses the surface, movements, positions, orientation and relation between objetcs modifies the structure and parameters of the sound synthetizer. Throught the objects, tangibles, and the round table, participation and individual interaction in the creation process is stimulated.
Developed by a group of digital luthiers under direction of Dr. Sergi Jordà and the team that works in the Music Technology Group at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona, and comercialized by Bjork in his last album and tour Volta, here face thee technological fascinating monster!
